Maths tools
The ruler and protractor sit on the board and can be dragged and turned. Draw along the ruler's edge and your line follows it exactly.
Opens a transparent ink layer over the whole Mac screen. Write over PDFs,
websites, PowerPoint or any other app, then turn Ink off to use the app normally.
Shapes
Pick one, then drag on the board. It appears at the top of the tool rail while it's armed.
Writing over other apps
Slate can only draw inside its own window. To write over MathsWatch, a PDF or
anything else on the Mac, that's Slate Overlay — a separate app. This opens it
if it's installed.
With the compass on, drag out from the centre to set the radius, then drag anywhere
to sweep an arc — right round to a full circle if you want. The radius stays put, so
you can strike the same arc from two points the way you would on paper.
Escape puts it away.
Live lesson
Start a lesson and you'll get a PIN. Students open this same address, tap Join, and wait for you to let them in by name.

Screenshots and photos go on the page as objects you can move and resize, not as a fixed backdrop. Use Add image in the toolbar, paste with Cmd V, or drag a file onto the board.
